Following the BC NDP's defeat in the 2013 Provincial Election, a review panel convened to assess the reasons behind this disappointing result.
The four-person panel conducted interviews with central and local campaign staff, and analyzed responses to a survey that was distributed to all party members. All together, more than 3,000 people participated in the review.
The panel concluded that there were a number of factors that came together to cause the BC NDP to lose the election. They include challenges around polling, communicating our platform, conducting a positive campaign, voter contact data and systems, and the absence of an effective ethnic strategy.
The panel's report includes 47 recommendations for success in the 2017 election.
