VANCOUVER - Vancouver lawyer David Eby was acclaimed as the BC NDP candidate for Vancouver-Point Grey at a packed nomination meeting Thursday night.

Eby, who came within 564 votes of winning against Liberal Premier Christy Clark in a 2011 by-election, said he is looking forward to a rematch.

“It’s an honour to be part of the Adrian Dix team, and to offer the people of Vancouver-Point Grey with a positive alternative to the Liberal record,” he said.

Speaking to the standing-room only crowd, BC NDP leader Adrian Dix said Eby is a strong addition to the BC NDP team of candidates.

“David is a powerful voice for the community,” said Dix. “He is practical, hard-working, and he’ll get results for the people of Vancouver-Point Grey.”
