Statement from Carole James on Mother's Day

In families like yours and mine, caring for our children is the number one priority.
No job is bigger, more important, or more challenging than raising our sons and daughters.
We teach them right from wrong. We encourage them to do their best. We encourage them to care for others.
Even after they're grown and on their own, we hold them in our hearts and support them in every way we can - even while we care for our own parents and work to pay the bills.
The work that every mother does is vital to our families. It is also the key to strong communities, and a society where we live by the values of fairness and respect for all.
To every mother and grandmother, thank you! I wish you the happiest of days.
