NELSON – New Democrat leader Adrian Dix and Nelson-Creston MLA Michelle Mungall issued the following statement in response to the B.C. Coroner reports from Johnson's Landing:
"On behalf of our caucus, we extend our deep condolences to the family, friends and community of the Webber family and Petra Frehse, as they grieve the loss of beloved family members and cherished neighbors.
"We also thank the members of the emergency response team, many who came from regional districts across the province, to help with the search effort. Dedicated and determined, they contended with challenging conditions that added complications and difficulties to the search efforts.
"In the coming days and weeks, we hope an examination of this landslide will take place that can inform us on measures to take to prevent a similar tragedy."
