Sustainable BC

Throughout British Columbia and around the world there is a growing understanding that sustainability and social justice are intricately woven together.

A sustainable environment and economy will open up great opportunity. It also requires people to make sacrifices and change their lifestyles. Modern society is characterized by increasing levels of inequality, and public policy that fails to respond to environmental degradation and social inequality cannot be sustainable.

In 2007, the BC NDP Convention adopted a resolution embracing Sustainable BC and calling for a renewed emphasis on policy proposals that are sustainable over the long-term.

We seek an advanced economy that spreads its benefits broadly among all British Columbians. Likewise we seek an environment that is second to none, where natural systems are not taxed beyond their ability to regenerate and repair themselves. Sustainable BC is our vision. We believe it offers a way forward for all British Columbians. Let's begin the dialogue on how to create a Sustainable BC. We want to hear your ideas for a more sustainable future.
