Long Title:
End taxpayer-funded ads

Intro Text:

We now know the BC Liberal government spent at least $16.6 million on partisan, taxpayer-funded ads by March 31. And they may yet spend more in the first two weeks of April, advertising right up until the day before the election campaign begins.

Body:

These ads are running for one reason and one reason only: to improve the Liberals’ chances of re-election. They should be paid for by the BC Liberal Party, not by taxpayers.

BC NDP leader Adrian Dix has introduced legislation that will make this outrageous abuse of tax dollars illegal. And if the Liberals will not help us pass it now, an NDP government, if elected, will pass that legislation in the first session of the first term.

You deserve better.

Quote:
If elected, a B.C. New Democrat government will require, through legislation, our Auditor General to review and approve government produced advertising.
