How the BC NDP's gas plan works
David Eby and the BC NDP's plan has two parts:
- 1
A fuel tax cut
A temporary 10¢-a-litre cut to the provincial tax on gas and diesel.
- 2
A gas price guard
Through the BC Utilities Commission, a price guard would set the maximum price gas stations can charge.
Together, these two parts cut prices by up to 30 cents a litre and can save up to $20 every time you fill up the average family vehicle.
