Marjorie Buchanan was a dear friend. Join us in celebrating her life.
Two weeks ago we lost Marjorie Buchanan, a much-loved friend of the NDP and this campaign.
For the last 93 (and three-quarter) years, Marjorie was an enthusiastic champion for peace and social justice. A regular at Gordon Neighbourhood House, she was eager for a chance to help out the BC NDP during this election campaign. When the opportunity came to attend one of our video shoots and speak to John Horgan about her experiences, she and her friends dropped everything to make it happen.

On the day of the video shoot, Marjorie charmed the entire crew (and John) with her optimism, her kindness and her quick wit.
“I only met Marjorie once, but the time I spent with her was the highlight of my day. I join her loved ones in grieving her loss and celebrating her memory. She was a wonderful soul and I’m grateful for the chance to get to know her, if only for a little while.” - John Horgan
We’d prepared a follow-up video to tell more about Marjorie’s story. But, after she passed away on April 20, we changed our minds about the story we wanted to tell.
With the permission of her family, we are honoured to share this little moment from her life with you.
