Today, Lorne Doerkson, Interim Leader of the BC Conservative Party, refused to answer a direct question today about the cost of his cut to PST revenues.

While Doerkson couldn’t answer a basic question about the cost, political commentators could.

His announcement will reduce provincial revenue by approximately $280 million.

Yesterday, he committed to not increasing tax revenue and paired with their promise to aggressively reduce the deficit, this means healthcare cuts, higher costs for services like car insurance, or both.

The BC NDP will continue to support B.C. producers through the trade war, lower costs for middle-class British Columbians and invest in healthcare - ensuring those at the very top pay their fair share to support healthcare and lower costs for everyone.
