Surrey, BC — Pauline Greaves has seen first-hand the huge difference John Horgan’s government has made in Surrey — and how important it is to keep moving forward on projects that help people.

A resident of south Surrey for almost 30 years, Dr. Pauline Greaves teaches business at the Langara School of Management and has served as part of the leadership team on the Commonwealth Secretariat and on Surrey’s Diversity and Inclusivity Advisory Committee.

“From tackling unfair costs like bridge tolls, moving forward on Surrey’s new hospital, and reducing congestion with the Skytrain extension and Massey Tunnel replacement, John Horgan’s BC NDP government is making progress for people and families in our community,” said Pauline Greaves. “There’s much more to do, and we can’t afford to let the BC Liberals stand in the way of the important projects that our community depends on.

Since forming government in July 2017, the BC NDP has made huge investments in schools, healthcare and infrastructure in Surrey, including:

• Eliminating bridge tolls, saving families $1,500 a year
• Extending the Skytrain and replacing the Massey Tunnel — without unfair tolls
• Building Surrey’s new hospital in Cloverdale
• Making record investments in new schools for Surrey students
• Cutting childcare fees and creating more spaces

Kevin Falcon’s BC Liberals oppose putting Surrey’s new hospital in Cloverdale and have vowed to cancel the Massey Tunnel replacement. Falcon has also said he opposes eliminating bridge tolls and ICBC rebate cheques.

The Surrey South by-election was triggered by the resignation of BC Liberal MLA Stephanie Cadieux. Under Elections BC regulations, a by-election must be called on or before October 28, 2022.
