Doerkson welcomes new climate change conspiracy theorist to Conservative slate

Interim Conservative Leader Lorne Doerkson has added a new climate change denier to the conservative slate.

His Esquimalt-Colwood candidate Dave Johnston has posted or amplified climate change conspiracies at least a dozen times, including writing:

“Turns out the climate always changes with our without humans... who would have thought?”

“All they have to do is put up a sign of impending doom and many people take it as religion. It almost becomes a cult. The IPCC has been doing this for decades and getting away with it. It's disgusting to mislead the public like this.”

“Wake up people!!! Fear mongering propaganda at its finest!”

“This is not a settled debate. Look around you, does it actually look like there's an ‘emergency’?"

Other examples of Johnston sharing or liking climate conspiracy theories are available here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, and here.

Johnston joins other climate change deniers and skeptics on the Conservative team, including Sheldon Clare, who said “I'm just not seeing it. I'm seeing cold weather,” and Bruce Banman, who “needs more information.”
