LANGLEY– Lorne Doerkson should direct his Langley candidates to retract personal attacks on Carney and their attempts to blame Canada for the trade war, says Langley-Willowbrook B.C. NDP Candidate Andrew Mercier.

Harman Banghu bashed Carney’s Davos speech earlier this year, calling him “self-indulgent” and accused him of “provoking Trump.”

Bhangu is one of the MLAs who refused to vote to condemn Trump’s tariffs - skipping the vote, despite having spoken against the motion that day.

He also claimed that "Antifa broke into the capital on Jan 6 too,” a widely debunked pro-Trump conspiracy theory. Bhangu has never retracted it.

Doerkson’s other two Langley candidates repeated the lies that Trump concocted about border security to justify the tariffs.

Van Popta said “It’s a simple neighbourly request to make, fix the border. It doesn’t need to be tariffs.”

Toor said “we must take urgent action to secure our borders and stop illegal mass migration of criminals and terrorists,” despite Trump having provided no evidence to support that claim.
