Fin Donnelly seeks Coquitlam-Burke Mountain NDP nomination

Former Member of Parliament and Coquitlam Councillor Fin Donnelly announced today he is seeking the NDP nomination for Coquitlam-Burke Mountain, a seat currently held by the BC Liberals.

After nearly two decades of service in municipal and federal politics, Donnelly wants once again to provide strong leadership for his community by joining John Horgan’s NDP team.

“Now more than ever, the people of Coquitlam-Burke Mountain need leadership that represents everyone. I’m ready to join John Horgan and his NDP team to create more affordable housing, ensure access to better childcare and build schools to meet the demand of our growing community,” said Donnelly.

Fin served as a member of Coquitlam City Council from 2002-2009 and as Member of Parliament for Port Moody-Coquitlam and New Westminster-Coquitlam from 2009-2019 before stepping down from federal politics last year.

Whether at City Hall or in Parliament, Donnelly fought hard to protect the environment and to ensure all citizens had someone in their corner working for them.

“I’m excited about the opportunity to represent Coquitlam-Burke Mountain in the Legislature and be part of a government that puts people first,” said Donnelly. “I’m proud of the leadership John and his team have shown during these challenging times. Together, we can build our community and province back better than ever.”
