Taking action for you and your family: Andrea Dunlop is your BC NDP candidate in Columbia River-Revelstoke

Andrea Dunlop, now officially the BC NDP candidate for Columbia River-Revelstoke, is dedicated to solutions that work for people.

Andrea Dunlop is a high school teacher with three decades of experience. A ten-year board member of the Windermere Community Association, her deep community involvement, and her work helping successive generations enter the world as empowered and active citizens, positions her well to tackle her community’s challenges.

“I grew up in small town BC, and built my career there. I want to meet the big challenges we all face with rigorous and evidence-based action,” said Dunlop. “The BC NDP has been acting on the issues we care about: housing for people, healthcare we can count on, and a more affordable day-to-day life. We are in your corner.”

Since forming government in July 2017, the BC NDP has taken action on crucial issues that matter to the people of Columbia River-Revelstoke, including:

  • Putting people ahead of speculators and investors by bringing in tough new restrictions on short-term rentals and a speculation tax, plus simplified approvals that make it easier and faster to get 300,000 new homes built;
  • Connecting people to the care they need by hiring 700 more family doctors, licensing internationally-educated healthcare workers in BC and building a new medical school at SFU Surrey to train even more doctors;
  • Putting money back in your pocket by eliminating MSP premiums, lowering ICBC rates by $500 a year and boosting the BC Family Benefit by $445; and
  • Keeping communities safe by hiring 250 more police officers, giving police more power to address public drug use, cracking down on repeat violent offenders, and taking on organized crime — including seizing Hells Angels clubhouses and many other proceeds of crime.

"Andrea Dunlop has a deep understanding of the challenges that small communities face, and works to meet those challenges with real solutions for real people," said Premier David Eby. "The people of Columbia River-Revelstoke can count on her to take action to deliver housing they can afford, healthcare they can count on, and a strong, clean economy that allows everyone to prosper."

Andrea Dunlop will join David Eby and 91 other exceptional BC NDP candidates in this fall’s provincial election, all committed to real action to help people build a good life here in BC.
