Field Fundraising Officer - Full-Time

The BC NDP is hiring a Field Fundraising Officer to support local EDA fundraising.

As a key member of the Field team, the Fundraising Officer will work with volunteers, MLAs, and local executives and Election Planning Committees to drive and support local fundraising and donor stewardship.

The Field Fundraising Officer will play a lead role in supporting compliance with Elections BC regulations and BC NDP fundraising policies, and in supporting successfully executed fundraising activities that meet targets and local campaign budget needs over the four-year election cycle.

Roles and responsibilities

  • Develop rapport amongst BC NDP members, including volunteers, candidates and MLAs;
  • Engage with activists and donors on the phone and by email to drive fundraising at the ground level;
  • Prepare and deliver trainings on local fundraising and donor stewardship;
  • Follow and promote best practices for fundraising, including direct ask, online, event and direct mail fundraising;
  • Draft and prepare on-brand local fundraising materials, including templates, scripts, guides and training documents;
  • Support and track local fundraising activities and progress towards annual and election-readiness targets;
  • Support compliance with Elections BC regulations and BC NDP policies;
  • Positively represent and further the goals of the BC NDP;
  • Accurately track and report contributions;
  • Follow written and oral instructions;
  • Keep accurate donor records with CiviCRM;
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications

  • Self-motivated team player with a strong work ethic and organizational skills;
  • Ability to work long and irregular hours, including evenings and weekends in a fast-paced, metrics-driven work environment;
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communications skills with the ability to build rapport with donors and volunteers from different backgrounds;
  • Demonstrated experience and enthusiasm for direct ask fundraising and donor stewardship;
  • Recent fundraising experience with non-profit or membership-based volunteer organizations;
  • Ability to write compelling fundraising emails and direct mail letters;
  • Diligent and detailed record keeping;
  • Ability to work in a co-operative, fast-paced campaign environment;
  • Ability to work learn quickly, manage competing priorities and meet deadlines;
  • Knowledge of the structure, history, policies and principles of the New Democratic Party of BC an asset;
  • A strong commitment to the BC NDP’s core values and familiarity with provincial politics;
  • Proficiency with Microsoft applications, Zoom, Slack, Asana and Google suite products;
  • Familiarity with digital platforms including Facebook an asset;
  • Willingness and availability to work long and irregular hours including weekends as required;


  • Positive, established working relationships with BC NDP volunteers, MLAs and members;
  • Knowledge of CiviCRM;
  • Familiarity with BC NDP tools and databases;
  • A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle;
  • Knowledge of BC’s electoral financing legislation;
  • Written and spoken Mandarin, Cantonese or Punjabi.

Terms and Conditions 

This is a full-time term position, reporting to the BC NDP Deputy Provincial Director, ending December 31 2024 with an option to renew upon mutual agreement.

The position is covered by the CUPE 3787 Collective Agreement with a monthly starting wage between $4,998.56 to $5,806.35 depending on experience, plus 10.75% RSP amount, as well as benefits including vacation and extended health coverage.

The position is based out of the BC NDP Provincial Office in Vancouver, BC, with the possibility of some remote work upon mutual agreement.
