Kevin Falcon is against building a hospital in Cloverdale

People in Cloverdale and Clayton should not have to drive to Surrey Memorial or Langley to get their healthcare. John Horgan and the BC NDP are building a new hospital in Cloverdale so they people can get care closer to where they live.

Kevin Falcon and the BC Liberals don’t want to build that hospital. Here’s what you need to know.

Kevin Falcon recently said: “I think the challenge quite frankly with the NDP wanting to put one in Cloverdale, is it's not a great location. I would want to take a hard look at where it's located."

The $1.7-billion Cloverdale Hospital is the biggest provincial investment in a hospital in our province’s history.

Construction starts next year and it will be open by 2027.

It will include 168 beds, an emergency room with 55 spaces, operating rooms, MRIs and CT scanners, and a regional cancer centre.

It will be located near Kwantlen Polytechnic University on a site that provides room for parking and future expansion.

As Finance Minister, Kevin Falcon sold the land where a second hospital for Surrey was supposed to be built. He even called it “surplus.”

In the Surrey South by-election on September 10, vote BC NDP to keep moving forward with the hospital in Cloverdale.
