People don’t want to spend all of their time stuck in traffic. That’s why Pauline Greaves backs the BC NDP plan to build a toll-free replacement for the Massey Tunnel.
But Kevin Falcon has promised to cancel that project. Here’s what you need to know:
He said “that tunnel is going to get cancelled if we form government.”
That would add three years to the construction timeline and hit people with unfair tolls.
When he was Transportation Minister, he brought in tolls on the Port Mann and Golden Ears Bridge.
The BC NDP under John Horgan got rid of tolls, saving families an average of $1,500 a year. Kevin Falcon says getting rid of the tolls was “not the right thing to do.”
In 2008, he promised to build “a six-kilometre extension in Surrey by 2020.” He broke that promise and refused to provide any funding for the extension when he was Minister of Finance.
The BC NDP is extending the Skytrain to Langley along the Fraser Highway. The project is two years ahead of schedule and it will open in 2028.
Drivers deserve better.
In the Surrey South by-election on September 10th, vote for BC NDP Candidate Pauline Greaves to keep moving forward on the toll-free Massey replacement, Skytrain extension, and more.
