It's Election Day in Vancouver-Quilchena. Here's what you should know.

Saturday, April 30th, is Election Day in the Vancouver-Quilchena by-election. If you haven't voted yet, today is the day to show your support for Jeanette Ashe and John Horgan's BC NDP team.

Here are a few things you need to know before you go.

1- Where you can vote in person

There are nine polling locations open today in Vancouver-Quilchena. All of them are open from 8am to 8pm. You can vote at any of these locations:

  • Dr. R.E. McKechnie Elementary School at 7455 Maple Street.
  • Dunbar Community Centre at 4747 Dunbar Street.
  • Hellenic Community of Vancouver at 4500 Arbutus Street.
  • Kerrisdale Elementary School at 5555 Carnarvon Steet.
  • Lord Kitchener Elementary School at 3455 W King Edward Avenue.
  • Magee Secondary School at 6360 Maple Street.

You can also vote at the District Electoral Office at 200-1985 West Broadway from 8am to 4pm.

To see which location is closer to you, you can look up the advance voting locations in your neighbourhood on the Elections BC website: https://wheretovote.elections.bc.ca/

2- Where you can drop off a mail-in ballot

If you've completed your mail-in ballot but haven't sent it off yet, you can drop it off at the District Electoral Office at 200-1985 West Broadway. To ensure it is counted, you must drop it off before 8pm on Election Day.

3- What you need to bring

You will need to prove your identity to vote. There are three super easy ways you can do that.

4- Why it's important

Voting is the most important way to have your say in how things get done in BC. And with so many locations to vote, doing that is super easy.

Thank you for voting and for your support for Jeanette Ashe and John Horgan's BC NDP team.
