BC NDP candidates ready to fight for their communities
VICTORIA - More BC NDP candidates are bringing legislative experience and deep commitments to their communities. They are standing with Premier David Eby and the BC NDP to protect the things that people in B.C. depend on.
Henry Yao is the candidate for Richmond Centre, Jennifer Blatherwick is the candidate for Coquitlam-Maillardville, Rick Glumac is the candidate for Port Moody-Burquitlam, Janet Routledge is the candidate for Burnaby North, and Tamara Davidson is the candidate for North Coast-Haida Gwaii.
“Each of these candidates is ready to fight for their communities and the jobs and services that people count on,” said David Eby, leader of the BC NDP. “While the conservatives would roll over to Trump, we are standing firm to protect what matters most.”
The BC NDP plan has been making a difference, with a million more people connected to a family doctor, rental prices coming down, and new schools coming to communities around the province. Conservative cuts would put all of that progress at risk. And British Columbians cannot afford to take that chance.
QUOTES
Henry Yao, BC NDP candidate for Richmond Centre -
“Families in Richmond Centre, particularly young families, need a representative who understands the challenges they face, reach across cultural divides, and is willing to stand up for them and fight for the things they need. As your MLA, I will stand up for B.C. every day, work to protect our economy from external threats, and build the infrastructure and jobs we need for a more prosperous and inclusive future.”
Jennifer Blatherwick, BC NDP candidate for Coquitlam-Maillardville -
“Families in Coquitlam-Maillardville are working hard to build a good life, and uncertainty from the U.S. is putting even more pressure on household costs. While the conservatives are talking about cuts to healthcare and education, we’re focused on what matters here at home: more housing people can afford, better access to health care, and more school spaces for our growing community. Our BC NDP team is fighting back, strengthening the services families rely on and building a stronger, more resilient B.C.”
Rick Glumac, BC NDP candidate for Port Moody-Burquitlam -
“My entire time in government has been laser focused on economic development, and supporting jobs and the growth of BC companies, especially in the tech sector and we need to continue that work. David Eby’s plan to grow our economy and bring more doctors from the US is exactly what we need in the years ahead.”
Janet Routledge, BC NDP candidate for Burnaby North -
“I’ve spent my life organizing working people to stand together and stand up for each other. In this moment, that’s what’s required in British Columbia: to stand up to Trump, to protect each other, and to build a stronger and more resilient BC economy. We need a government focused on the task at hand, and we can’t afford Conservative cuts and chaos.”
Tamara Davidson, BC NDP candidate for North Coast-Haida Gwaii -
“Haida Gwaii has shaped who I am and how I lead – by listening, bringing people together and standing up for the communities I call home. I’m proud to run again for the people of North Coast-Haida Gwaii and to be part of David Eby’s team, standing up for rural and remote communities and making sure our voices are heard. I know what it means to serve this community, and I’m ready to keep doing the work with the BC NDP.”
