Final slate shows people uniting behind Eby to defeat Rustad
Elections BC’s final candidate report shows 93 approved candidates for both the BC NDP and BC Conservatives and 69 for the BC Green Party.
The Greens had nominated 81 candidates, meaning 12 fell short of gathering the 75 signatures required to get on the ballot.
This is the second smallest Green slate since 1991.
Heather Stoutenburg, BC NDP Provincial Director:
“David Eby and his strong team of 93 candidates is taking action to lighten the load on people by helping with costs, strengthening healthcare, and creating 300,000 homes that the middle class can afford.
“Every day, we seem to learn more about John Rustad’s bizarre and dangerous conspiracy theories. It’s becoming increasingly clear how much he would cost British Columbians. Earlier today, he refused to remove candidates who are promoting pro-Trump conspiracy theories. He’s a risk we can’t afford.”
