“I’m not going back to the Conservative Party” and other things CentreBC MLAs have said ahead of merger

Asked yesterday on RED FM if he’d consider a merger with the B.C. Conservative Party, Peter Milobar warned the party was still controlled by Kerry-Lynne Findlay and her supporters:

“I don't know what that looks like. You still have a very large portion of that caucus that are very supportive, and were very strong supporters of Kerry-Lynne Findlay. Obviously, there's a party membership that was very strongly supportive of her. She won the leadership race.”

But several of Findlay’s endorsers remain in the party:

Heather Maahs, who said “Eby needs to comply” with Trump’s tariffs.

David Williams, who promoted Western Canada as a U.S. protectorate.

Anna Kindy who endorsed RFK Jr.

Lawrence Mok, who opposes the U.S. liquor ban and said it “invites retaliation” from Trump.

Macklin McCall, who opposed culling the ostriches infected with avian flu.

Steve Kooner, who called inclusive school programming “garbage perverted ideology.”

Sharon Hartwell, who thinks the 2020 election was stolen from Trump.

Rosalyn Bird: “Going back to the Conservatives, that's not going to happen. For myself personally, I'm not going back to the Conservative Party.”

Bruce Banman: “The problem that the Conservatives now find themselves in: has the brand been damaged beyond electability? I believe it has.”
