Kelowna deserves focused representation, not Kristina Loewen’s MAGA-conspiracy theories
KELOWNA– Kelowna Centre deserves qualified and serious representation that’s focused on priorities like healthcare, the cost of living, and jobs - not bizarre conspiracy theories.
Kelowna Centre Conservative candidate Kristina Loewen has a long history of spreading bizarre, anti-science conspiracy theories on social media, including:
A video of Donald Trump’s Health Secretary RFK Jr claiming a conspiracy that the government was intentionally making people sick and widely-dubunked claims that fluoride, aspartame, and cell phone radiation are giving people chronic illnesses. Loewen added the caption “Such an important conversation. So glad he’s saying it.” (Video)
She has also made a series of conspiratorial claims about vaccines that are still available on her social media as of this morning:
“Read the Pfizer docs that they tried to hide from you for 75 years. If you dare.” (Link)
“You should look up the studies. Just take a day or two to dive deep and read for yourself on a few different sites. It doesn't take long to find the truth.” (Link)
“Make sure RFK Jr gets a security detail.” (Link)
She has also reposted a string of dangerous medical misinformation, including claims that vaccines cause cancer and autism, and that sunscreen is toxic.
She attacked the RCMP for ignoring “Liberal corruption” while enforcing public health orders related to ostriches.
She posted enthusiastically in support of Pierre Poilievre as he supported the freedom convoy.
Loyal Wooldridge, BC NDP Candidate for Kelowna Centre:
“People in Kelowna deserve someone who is focused on what matters to their daily lives. This MLA has gone down a far-right “Donald Trump rabbit hole of conspiracy theories. The Conservative MLA has never accounted for or retracted the medical misinformation and far-right American-conspiracy theories that she regularly spread. BC is recruiting doctors and nurses who are fleeing the US to avoid the Trump administration’s attack on medical science. We can’t afford representatives who will drive them away from Kelowna. It’s time to elect an MLA for Kelowna Centre who’s focused on what actually matters to families.”
