Premier John Horgan's statement on Thanksgiving
Premier John Horgan has issued the following statement in recognition of Thanksgiving:
“As the leaves start changing colour, Thanksgiving is a time to reflect on what we are thankful for and to remember the importance of community.
"Usually, this weekend we would bring our extended family and chosen family together to celebrate and share the abundance of the fall harvest. This year will look different – because of COVID-19 we will be connecting in smaller groups, or virtually, or on the phone. But I’m confident British Columbians will continue to mark this holiday creatively and safely, with those they love.
"Now, more than ever, the bonds of family, friends and community are critical. This Thanksgiving, let’s be grateful for people who give us strength and resilience. Let’s reach out and support those in need. And let’s keep building a province where no one gets left behind.
"From delivering affordable housing and child care, to expanding access to education and training, we are working every day to provide opportunities for all British Columbians. These are challenging times, but we’re putting people at the heart of our recovery.
"We are stronger together. Happy Thanksgiving.”
