Taking action for you and your family: Aman Singh earns BC NDP nomination in Richmond-Queensborough

BC NDP candidate Aman Singh will keep taking action for families in Richmond-Queensborough after being nominated by a roomful of supporters for the provincial election this fall.

Aman is passionately committed to fighting for social justice and environmental protection, as part of David Eby's BC NDP team. He takes pride and joy in being a father to his daughter, Leni, and made history in 2020 as the first turban-wearing Sikh elected to the legislature .

“We need to keep building a BC where everyone can build a good life for themselves, but John Rustad only wants to help those who already have the most - while the rest of us pay the price,” said Singh. “David Eby is on our side. He’s taking real action to lower costs for everyday people and building new hospitals so we have better access to health care. That’s the kind of leadership we need right now.”

Since forming government in July 2017, the BC NDP has taken action on crucial issues that matter to the people of Richmond-Queensborough, including:

  • Building more homes you can afford by putting people ahead of speculators and investors and building hundreds more affordable units in Richmond and New Westminster
  • Helping people get care when they need it by expanding the Richmond Hospital, building a second urgent and primary care centre in Richmond, and hiring hundreds of new family doctors
  • Put money back in your pocket by eliminating MSP premiums, lowering ICBC rates by $500 a year and boosting the BC Family Benefit by $445.
  • Making our communities safer by taking on organized crime and saving lives by connecting people to hundreds of new drug treatment spaces
  • “Aman has dedicated his life to being a champion for the issues that matter most to people,” said Premier David Eby. “From getting more housing built to lowering costs for families, I know he will be tireless in working to take real action for families in Richmond-Queensborough.”

Aman Singh will join David Eby and 91 other exceptional BC NDP candidates in this fall’s provincial election, all committed to real action to help people build a good life here in BC.
