Terrace City Councillor Sarah Zimmerman to run as BC NDP candidate in Skeena
SKEENA — Terrace City Councillor Sarah Zimmerman will again be the BC NDP candidate for Skeena. Zimmerman is an elected Terrace City Councillor, former journalist, entrepreneur, senior communications leader, and proud parent who has spent more than two decades bringing the Skeena region’s residents together to work collaboratively on the issues that matter most to them. After running for the BC NDP in Skeena in 2024, she is returning to the campaign focused on protecting local jobs, lowering costs and strengthening health care for families across the region.
“Good representation starts with building relationships across sectors to bring people together and get important projects done,” says Zimmerman. “I know firsthand the powerful impact of working together, and I will bring that strong, effective approach to Victoria to represent Skeena.”
David Eby and the BC NDP are standing up to Donald Trump’s threats, protecting B.C. jobs and opening new markets so the province is less dependent on the U.S. The BC NDP is also lowering costs and tripling recruitment of U.S.-trained health-care workers to help more people get the care they need. Conservatives would cozy up to Trump, cancel the recruitment effort, cut health care and push costs higher for working people.
“Sarah brings professional experience and a deep personal commitment to Skeena,” said David Eby, Leader of the BC NDP. “As a Terrace City Councillor and former Executive Director of Communications at Coast Mountain College, she understands the needs of communities in the Northwest and will be a strong voice for local families.”
