The BC NDP government’s Economic Recovery Plan already brought in a one year 100% PST rebate to businesses on purchase of machinery and equipment, providing $470 million in savings on a wide range of business purchases.

BC already provides a number of exemptions on PST for the logging industry:

• Production machinery and equipment (ex. equipment for moving trees)
• Containers and packaging material (ex. bundling wire)
• Safety equipment and protective clothing

Most household essentials are also already exempt from PST: including groceries and meals in restaurants, children’s clothing, school supplies, medications, rent and childcare.
