17 questions to remind us what’s at stake in this election.

This election, like all elections, is about choices.

It’s about the kind of British Columbia we want to live in and the one we want to leave for our kids and grandkids.

We hope that over the last 28 days, John Horgan and the BC NDP team have shown you their vision for the better BC we want to build. We hope that you believe British Columbia should be more affordable, with better services and a sustainable economy that works for everyone. Most of all, we hope that when you walk into that ballot booth, you’ll join together with hundreds of thousands of British Columbians and vote for a change in government.

If you’re still undecided about how you’ll cast your ballot, we’ve created a list of 17 different ways the BC Liberal record and their plans for the future differ from ours. Take a look:

1 - Affordability:

Do you want a BC NDP government that taxes empty homes and real estate speculation, and promises to build affordable housing and protect renter's rights?

OR do you want a BC Liberal government that allows real estate speculators to drive up property costs and leave homes empty, hollowing out our cities and forcing out renters?

2 - Healthcare:

Do you want a BC NDP government that builds new hospitals and urgent care centres across the province to help people get the support they need, when they need it?

OR do you want a BC Liberal government that expands private hospitals, while closing public clinics and leaving sick patients in emergency room hallways?

3 - Education:

Do you want a BC NDP government that invests millions in new teachers, new classrooms, kids and education?

OR do you want a BC Liberal government that spends 16 years fighting teachers and denying kids the education they deserve?

4 - Climate Action:

Do you want a BC NDP government that will take decisive climate action, force polluters to pay their share, and give 80% of families financial relief with carbon tax rebates?

OR do you want a BC Liberal government that bows to big polluters and leaves families on the hook for the carbon tax?

5 - Big Money in Politics:

Do you want a BC NDP government that permanently transforms our election finance system by banning corporate and union donations and capping personal donations?

OR do you want a BC Liberal government that takes millions in big money from corporate, industrial and international interests at secretive fundraisers and then gives access to lawmakers and favourable laws in exchange?

6 - The Opioid Crisis:

Do you want a BC NDP government that takes fast action to unite government, law enforcement, harm reduction and care services to confront this growing crisis head-on?

OR do you want a BC Liberal government that refuses to allow their candidates to answer questions about the opioid crisis, and blames other levels of government for their inaction?

7 - Higher Education:

Do you want a BC NDP government that promises a tuition freeze and interest-free student loans?

OR do you want a BC Liberal government that does nothing to help students manage rising tuition costs and their oppressive student debt loads?

8 - Bridge Tolls:

Do you want a BC NDP government that ends bridge tolls altogether and invests in transit to make life more affordable for people south of the Fraser?

OR do you want a BC Liberal government that will charge you thousands of dollars every year to cross the Port Mann and the Golden Ears Bridge?

9 - Rising Fees:

Do you want a BC NDP government that will freeze BC Hydro and ICBC rates, halt ferry fare increases on major routes and end MSP fees?

OR do you want a BC Liberal government that hides tax increases by raising fares on BC Ferries, approves a 42% rate increase at ICBC, and allows BC Hydro bills to skyrocket?

10 - Seniors in Care:

Do you want a BC NDP government that treats our elders with dignity and respect?

OR do you want a BC Liberal government that leaves seniors waiting weeks for basic health care, and cuts home visits down to 15 minutes apiece?

11 - Indigenous Reconciliation:

Do you want a BC NDP government that’s committed to implementing the principles of UNDRIP and working side by side with First Nations on reconciliation?

OR do you want a BC Liberal government that only pays attention to First Nations when the royals are in town or there’s an election to win?

12 - Children in Care:

Do you want a BC NDP government that’s pledged $10M more to help kids in care get the support they need?

OR do you want a BC Liberal government that turned a blind eye when 120 kids died in its care over the last four years?

13 - Poverty Reduction:

Do you want a BC NDP government with a real plan to improve the lives of low-income British Columbians?

OR do you want a BC Liberal government that voted down a poverty reduction plan 4 times?

14 - The Grizzly Hunt:

Do you want a BC NDP government that bans the grizzly bear trophy hunt province-wide?

OR do you want a BC Liberal government that allows grizzly bears trophy hunting across 90% of British Columbia?

15 - The Kinder Morgan pipeline:

Do you want a BC NDP government that fights for the safety of our waters and lands, and believes in a sustainable economy that works for everyone?

OR do you want a BC Liberal government that approves a sevenfold increase in oil tanker traffic on the BC coast, without a spill reduction plan?

16 - Affordable Child Care:

Do you want a BC NDP government that will implement safe, reliable and affordable $10-a-day child care?

OR do you want a BC Liberal government that forces you to spend thousands of dollars on child care, or leaves you languishing on wait lists for years?

17 - A Premier you can trust:

Do you want a BC NDP government led by John Horgan, someone who cares deeply about the people of this province - and will fight for each and every person who lives here?

OR do you want a BC Liberal government led by Christy Clark, someone who refuses to apologize for anything, including to the relatives of people who died because of her government’s action?

A better BC is possible – and within our reach.

On election day, join together with us and make it happen.
