Tuesday is Election Day! Here’s what you should know.

Tuesday is the big day: Election Day.

It only comes around every 4 years – so you'd better get out there. You can vote from 8am to 8pm at polling locations all around the province.

Here are a few things you might want to know before you go.

1- Where you can vote

You can look up the voting locations in your neighbourhood right here: https://www.bcndp.ca/where-to-vote

And remember, on Election Day, you can vote at any voting location in BC.

2- What you need to bring

You need to prove your identity to vote. There are three super easy ways you can do that.

Option 1: Show one of these pieces of ID: A BC driver’s licence; a BC Identification Card (BCID); a BC Services Card (with photo); or a Certificate of Indian Status.

Option 2: Show any two pieces of ID or documents that both show your name. At least one needs your address on it. Some examples include your BC Care Card, a passport, a utility bill or your student card. See the full list here.

Option 3: No ID? No problem – you can bring someone to vouch for you. Learn more about that here.

3- How fast voting is

Voting is fast and easy. And it’s more fun with a friend, so why not bring one along? Elections BC also has A LOT of people working on Election Day who are there to help make it as easy as possible.

4- You get a fancy sticker to wear all day

Just like these other folks who’ve already voted.

5- You can post a selfie

As you can see, these photos look prettttty cool. Don’t be left out!

6- This election is going. To be. CLOSE.

There’s a lot at stake in this election and it could come down to just a few votes in key seats.

After 16 years of the BC Liberals working for their friends at the top, many British Columbians are struggling to keep up.

Hard-working people like you are paying more. Health care and education are falling behind.

John Horgan’s BC NDP will work hard to make your life more affordable. We’ll also improve the services you count on while creating good jobs and a sustainable economy.

Every vote counts and it’s up to us to make sure we elect a BC NDP government.

7- When should you start paying attention? (Or, what time should your election-watch party start?)

Polls close at 8pm so start tuning in after that.
