VICTORIA— The problems that British Columbians have with Christy Clark’s government weren’t solved by her latest throne speech says New Democrat Leader John Horgan.
“For too long Christy Clark has been working for the wealthy and the well-connected while leaving ordinary British Columbians behind,” said Horgan.
“Now on the eve of an election, she is doing anything she can to distract from the fact that she has created a B.C. where people can’t afford to live and build a future.
VANCOUVER — Madeline Lalonde, an IT recruiter and youth activist, was acclaimed as the BC NDP candidate for Vancouver-Quilchena at a nomination meeting on February 9. Lalonde says she has seen how Christy Clark’s decision are hurting us and knows it’s time for change.
“Under Christy Clark, people are paying more and getting less,” said Lalonde. “Our MSP, Hydro and ICBC rates keep going up while our schools and hospitals are being cut.”
VANCOUVER—With hate speech incidents rising in B.C. on the heels of Donald Trump’s executive order against Muslim travellers, it is time to re-establish the B.C. Human Rights Commission, says New Democrat Leader John Horgan.
“B.C. is currently the only province in Canada without a Human Rights Commission – because it was scrapped by the B.C. Liberal government in 2002 when Christy Clark was a cabinet minister,” said Horgan. “That’s wrong.
When Christy Clark is in trouble, she makes stuff up. Here are three statements she made on radio this morning that are blatantly untrue:
Running a dirty election campaign
“I know the NDP are all saying they want to make this a dirty campaign, kind of an American style import.”
KAMLOOPS — After 16 years of ignoring health care services in Kamloops, Christy Clark can’t be trusted when she promises to change just before an election, says B.C. New Democrat Leader John Horgan.
Horgan said a New Democrat government will build the new patient care tower at Royal Inland Hospital, and blasted the Christy Clark government for ignoring the health care needs of people in Kamloops until it threatened to become an election issue.
VICTORIA— The latest report from B.C.’s Representative for Children and Youth is a stunning condemnation of Christy Clark’s failure to protect our most vulnerable children, says B.C. New Democrat Leader John Horgan.
The report examined the tragic life and death of Alex Gervais – a foster child who took his life after having been left alone in an Abbotsford hotel by contractors.
“Christy Clark and her minister missed an opportunity to create a safe and caring home for Alex,” said Horgan. “Alex needed their help and Alex begged for their help.
